What attorneys should know about working with returning
service members, veterans and their families

There are over 625,000 service members and veterans living throughout Arizona, including 53,000 OEF/OIF (Afghanistan/Iraq) veterans. This Continuing Legal Education event will help attorneys working with these service members and veterans with better understanding military culture, how deployment and reintegration affect these individuals and how best to assist these clients. The program will be moderated by Professor Kenney Hegland of the University of Arizona College of Law.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Attorneys and law students, paralegals, administrative staff, military personnel, as well as any other community partners and providers who work with the military and veteran population.
Overview of military/veteran culture, resources and key mental health and social issues affecting service members, veterans & their families from the Iraq/Afghanistan conflicts.
Boots on the Ground
Briefings on firsthand experiences with service, deployment and reintegration by a panel of service members, veterans & family members.
The Attorney’s Role
Panel discussion on how to work with military and veteran clients and the practicalities and ethics of connecting them to needed care physical and behavioral health issues.

Arizona Coalition for Military Families
The Arizona Coalition for Military Families is a public/private partnership focused on building Arizona's statewide capacity to care for and support all service members, veterans, their families and communities.
The Employment Resource Center is dedicated to assisting veterans, service members, and their families, to prepare for a job, find a job, and keep a job. We are also dedicated to assisting companies, non-profit organizations, and goverment entities to find and employ qualified candidates from all branches of service. We provide a worforce unlike any other.
